Welcome to Broadwas CE VA Primary School

Thank you for visiting our website and taking an interest in our school.

Broadwas is a small village Church School in the beautiful rural setting of the Teme Valley. We are extremely proud of our school and our hard working team of inspirational staff and governors are committed to providing the best possible education for all of our children. We are very proud of our distinct Christian Values which are love, respect, friendship, creativity, truthfulness and perseverance.

Our vision is to enable every child to achieve their very best whilst equipping them with the skills to become responsible citizens and independent life-long learners. At Broadwas, we are educating and preparing our children for the future. We aim to provide a wide range of opportunities to inspire children, whatever their interests or talents. Children and teachers are enthused by our innovative curriculum which is challenging, diverse and exciting.

We are dedicated to raising young people’s achievement by providing regular opportunities for learning outside the classroom. We recognise that learning in the school grounds, the locality, visiting sites further afield and residential experiences all stimulate interest, curiosity and a passion for learning through hands-on experience. There is a wealth of evidence which clearly demonstrates that young people who experience learning outside the classroom as a regular part of their school life benefit from increased self-esteem and become more engaged in their education both inside and outside the classroom walls.

To facilitate this at school, we have many outdoor facilities such as an adventure playground, traversing wall, problem solving and den building zone, nature area with pond, as well as raised beds where children can grow their own healthy produce. Our resident Forest School leader organises regular trips to a local woodland area to further enrich outdoor learning opportunities for our pupils.

We promote self-discipline and we teach our children to have a sense of responsibility for themselves, other people and the environment. We know every child as an individual and the creation of strong and positive relationships with parents is a central part of this. ‘Living our values every day’ is our motto and a core principle permeating all aspects of life at Broadwas.

Visitors to our school often comment on the warm, friendly and happy environment. Our school is a place where there is a calm, purposeful atmosphere in which children behave well and respect is shown to all.

Exploring the information on our website will provide a flavour of what life is like at Broadwas CE Primary School, but we would encourage you to visit us to see the school in action, meet our staff and pupils and discover for yourself how your child could thrive here.
